As a contractor specializing in complete hotel renovations we are often confronted with the question whether or not to use hotel management staff to oversee a PIP or complete renovation. We can explain the value that we offer the project, but nothing works quite as well as an actual incident from an actual hotel owner.
We had contacted a hotel near Baltimore, Maryland about an upcoming renovation. They were already in the process of playing general contractor and finding subs to perform the work. They liked what we had to offer and allowed us a look at what they had done so far. Doing so many hotels in the past, we knew some of the numbers weren’t adding up; the guest room wallcovering material and labor was nearly double what we typically see in hotels of that size. We addressed the wallcovering sub and discovered they had made a math error in the neighborhood of $40,000! Now that is just one trade. Imagine what lies in the rest of the project. This owner was days away from ordering twice the amount she needed in wall covering.
Now the question is can you afford NOT to hire Designer Walls, Inc?
